Hunting with the Kelb tal-Fenek in Malta

The dog is searching for hidden rabbits in the
rubble stone wall.

The dogs are announcing a hidden prey.

The ferret is an indispensable companion for rabbit hunting
with the Kelb tal-Fenek.

A break during a night hunt in Malta: The dogs are getting water.
The basket on the right side ('garzella') contains the ferret.

Sometimes the Kelb tal-Fenek is also used to accompany
herds of goat and sheep on their way to the pasture
grounds (photo from Gozo).

An old photo. Rabbit hunting with the Kelb tal-Fenek
has a long tradition in the Maltese Islands. However, the
gun is only rarely used.

high need of exercise.
